Yandell Walton_

Yandell Walton’s has been using projection and video installation to explore themes around the containment of the body, uncovering a metaphor for the interior space of the psyche. She is interested in the interaction between the projected image and three-dimensional spaces to help blur the boundaries between the real and unreal. Walton completed her Masters Of Fine Art at RMIT in 2005 and regularly exhibits in galleries and installation spaces both nationally and internationally. She was granted the Melbourne Fringe Festival Visual Arts Award 2005 and has won the Siemens Scholarship in both 2003 and 2004 for her projection installations. In 2007 she created a work and exhibited it in Berlin after receiving an Australia Council for the Arts Runway grant. In late 2008, with the assistance of the Australia Council for the Arts, she will travel to New York to work with mentor Martina Mrongrovious to develop her projection technique and a project for exhibition at Flux Factory, a not-for-profit arts space with an international reputation for innovative programming.
