FOLDBACK, a trans-media event, combines some of the creative outcomes
of recent ANAT projects within the dual contexts of the 1998 Telstra
Adelaide Festival and a website -come- archive.
F O L D B A C K THE FORUM
The centrepiece of FOLDBACK is a day-long forum on media, sound and screen cultures. Forming a living biography of ANAT's past and present, all the participants of FOLDBACK work in cross disciplinary ways, dispelling the assumption that media art belongs only in a visual art context.

A key aspect of the FOLDBACK project was a national tour by keynote speaker, Mark Amerika. In keeping with ANAT's objective to ensure wide coverage for events engaging with critical issues in art and technology practice, Amerika presented at three venues around Australia, alongside other contributors to the FOLDBACK project in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.
