PROJECTS TAGGED WITH ROBOTICS_
Synapse ARC Linkage project 2006
Fish-Bird is the result of a three-year Synapse Australian Research Council Linkage grant. The cross-disciplinary project brought together people from four disparate sectors: a media arts researcher/artist, robotics scientists, partners from major arts organisations and a high-technology business. The collaboration resulted in the creation of a major autokinetic robotic artwork that set the benchmark for what such artwork can be.
Synapse Residencies 2007/08
The Synapse Residencies place Australian artists into science and research settings to pursue collaborative projects with benefits accruing to both the resident and the host organisation. 2007/08 was the third year of the project and the first year that artists were placed within organisations outside of Australia.
Synapse elist
The Synapse elist brings together international experts to discuss leading edge art and science collaborations in areas as diverse as bioart, robotics, mapping and climate change.
Synapse Database
The Synapse Database contains comprehensive information on collaborative projects between artists and scientists. Such projects include the research, development and
production of work through residency programs and other means, as well
as exhibitions and publications concerned with this interdisciplinary
practice.
